Yesterday, the SOTAI Mandala was held.
The SOTAI Mandala is an event where Miura Hiroshi sensei shares the results of his year's research and practice of SOTAI with his disciples.
I also participated in the event as one of his students, and it gave me a new perspective on learning SOTAI.
If you think of SOTAI as a technique, it is difficult to master.
Before practicing the SOTAI techniques, you first need to study the underlying ideas behind SOTAI.
Sotai is a system that includes the philosophy of life and views on life and death of its founder, Dr. Keizo Hashimoto.
The word "ho" refers to the techniques. These are the techniques that Dr. Keizo Hashimoto used in his actual treatments.
However, the "ho" techniques are only a small part of sotai.
To master Sotai, and this is true for other things besides Sotai, you need
1. The foundation of the way of thinking (Dr. Keizo Hashimoto's philosophy),
2. The techniques, and
3. Continuous learning and practice.
Most people start with technique 2, but the reason so few people reach the point of mastery is because they skip over 1 (the foundation of the way of thinking).
Let me give you an example from the words of a wise man.
A revelation has come to you.
If you visit XX temple on XX day XX time of XX year and make an offering, you will become rich.
This is a method, or a technique.
In other words, sotai-ho.
All you need to know is how to get to XX temple.
That is sotai.
If you don't know this, you won't be able to reach XX temple.
